Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

Note: The wear sleeve and the seal must be installed at the same time.
Install the crankshaft front seal and the wear sleeve with Tooling (D) , as follows:
Use Tooling (E) to clean the inside diameter of wear sleeve and the outside diameter of crankshaft . Apply Tooling (F) to the outside diameter of crankshaft and the inside diameter of wear sleeve.
Install locator (2) and the bolts on the front of the crankshaft gear.
The wear sleeve and the seal come as a set. The seal is installed on the wear sleeve.Note: Ensure that the lip of the seal is toward the inside of the engine. Position the diameter of the wear sleeve toward the outside of the engine.
Put the wear sleeve and the seal on locator (2) .

Put installer (3) in position on locator (2) .
Put clean engine oil on the face of nut (4) and the contact area on installer (3) . Install nut (4) onto the stud of locator (2) .
Tighten nut (4) until installer (3) makes contact with locator (2) .
Remove Tooling (D) and check the wear sleeve and the seal for correct installation.End By: Install the vibration damper. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Vibration Damper - Install".
