instrument cluster will initiate a powerup sequence when the instrument cluster senses a transition from OFF to RUN on the key start switch. The gauge needles will move to the maximum right position. The needles will remain in the maximum position for approximately 1 second.The instrument cluster will perform the self test when the key start switch is turned to the ON position. The test will cycle all of the indicators and all of the gauges.The duration of the ECM controlled test is 3 seconds. During this time, the following functions will be performed:Gauges - The needles will sweep smoothly from the minimum to the maximum during the self test.LED Indicators - For single colored indicators, the indicator will illuminate for the entire test. For multiple colored indicators, the primary color will illuminate for the first half of the test and the secondary color will illuminate for the second half of the test.Action Alarm - The alert alarm is activated at the beginning of the self test. The alarm remains on for one second only.After completion of the self test, the instrument cluster goes to normal mode operation.
