When driving the machine down a hill at a high rate of speed, if tire slippage occurs an uncommanded motion detection fault may be triggered. An uncommanded motion fault will cause the brakes to lock up. Locking the brakes at a high rate of speed could result in serious injury or death.
At higher speeds, forces of inertia tend to make the machine less stable. When operating the machine down a hill, maintain second gear or lower. When in second gear, do not exceed the 60% setting for speed control.Note: Before roading the machine, consult your tire dealer for recommended tire pressures and speed limitations.Note: Raise the scrapers when roading the machine in order to avoid unnecessary wear.Inflate the tires to the correct pressure. Refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Tire Inflation Pressure Adjustment".The performance of the tires on the machine are specified by a rating of ton-kilometer per hour (ton-mile per hour). Consult your tire dealer for the specification of the tires on your machine. Observe the specified ton-kilometer per hour (ton-mile per hour) of the tires.Perform a daily inspection of the machine. Measure the fluid levels in the various compartments. Refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Daily Inspection" for more detailed information.Check with the proper officials in order to obtain the required licenses.Install any required flags, signals, or lights.Travel at a moderate speed. Observe all speed limitations when you road the machine.
