Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Cat Dealer Service Tool Catalog" or refer to Special Publication, PECJ0003, "Cat Shop Supplies and Tools Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Remove the valve mechanism cover. Refer to the Disassembly and Assembly Manual, "Valve Mechanism Cover - Remove and Install" for the procedure.

(1) Bolt
(2) Exhaust side of cylinder head
(3) Bolt
(4) Inlet side of cylinder head
Tighten the bolt for the injector (1) that is closest to the exhaust side (2) of the cylinder head to a torque of 12 1 N m (9 1 lb ft).
Tighten the bolt for the injector (3) that is closest to the inlet side (4) of the cylinder head to a torque of 12 1 N m (9 1 lb ft).
Install the valve mechanism cover. Refer to the Disassembly and Assembly Manual, "Valve Mechanism Cover - Remove and Install" for the procedure.
