(33)Change the Winch Filter Element
Hot oil and components can cause personal injury. Do not allow hot oil or components to contact skin. Use all cleaning solutions with care.
1. Remove the cover. 2. Remove the filter element housing with a wrench. 3. Remove the filter element from the housing.4. Clean the housing with a clean cloth.5. Replace the seal if damaged. Lubricate the seal with clean winch oil. 6. Install a new filter element into the housing.7. Tighten the housing to 27 4 N m (20 3 lb ft).8. Reinstall the cover.Wash the Winch Magnetic Strainer
1. Remove the cover. 2. Remove the magnet and strainer.3. Wash them in clean, nonflammable solvent. 4. Reinstall the clean strainer. 5. Reinstall the magnet.6. Inspect the cover seal. Replace it if it is damaged.7. Reinstall the cover.
