3408 DITA Industrial, Marine and Generator Set Engines;
All 3412 Industrial, Marine, and Generator Set EnginesNew double-wall fuel injection lines groups and fuel drain groups are now available as attachments for the above 3408 and 3412 Engines.
These groups can not be used on 3408 Engines which have precombustion chambers.There are separate fuel injection lines groups for 3412 PC or DIT Engines, 3412 DITA Engines rated at 1300 RPM or below and 3412 DITA Engines rated at more than 1300 rpm.
The new groups provide steel covers for the fuel injection lines and a collection and warning system for fuel leakage.
The fuel injection lines groups provide a steel outer wall that will contain any fuel leakage from the injection lines, and adapters that permit this leakage to be drained.
The fuel drain groups have drain lines and a vented reservoir-switch unit.
If leakage occurs, the fuel will drain from the double-wall fuel injection lines, through the drain lines and into the reservoir-switch unit. When a specific amount of fuel is in the reservoir-switch unit, the switch is activated and a signal is sent to the operations area.
The problem must then be corrected and the fuel drained from the reservoir-switch unit.
The new fuel injection lines groups must be used with the new fuel drain groups to give protection against fires and lubricant dilution (mixed with other solution), caused by fuel leakage.
The groups are not available for parts service as a group, but the separate components shown in the charts, can be installed on 3408 and 3412 Engines currently in use.
