Button for the Transmission hold control
The transmission hold control allows the operator to prevent transmission shifts while the machine is making a cut. This provides maximum power for the cut. If the engine speed decreases to approximately 1000 rpm, the ECM downshifts the transmission in order to prevent an underspeed condition of the engine. A push button on the joystick allows the operator to engage the transmission hold control. The button also disengages the transmission hold control.When the Wheel Tractor-Scraper is started, the transmission hold control is OFF. When the operator presses the button on the joystick for the transmission hold, the transmission hold control is engaged. The indicator for the transmission hold illuminates. The button on the joystick sends a signal to the Transmission/Chassis ECM. This signal is sent to normally closed connector contact J1-36 and normally open connector contact J1-37. When the operator pushes the button on the joystick, the state of the switch will change. The ECM reads the switch position and determines whether to engage or disengage the transmission hold control. The ECM sends a signal in order to illuminate the indicator for the transmission hold through connector contact J2-41.
