There is a change to the oil level gauge (dipstick)and bracket for the oil level switch harness, along with the oil pan change.The original oil pan refill capacity was 31Liters (8.2 U.S. Gallons). The new oil pan refill capacity is 48 Liters(12.6 U.S. Gallons).
Refer to the Service Manual RENR1223 and its?Supplement Service Manual RENR1971 on "Engine Oil Pan - Remove and Install".
Drain used oil from the engine oil pan. Disposeof used oil properly.
Disconnect the connector for the oil level switchand remove its harness-mounting bracket.
Remove the oil pan. Clean the mating surface ofthe engine block.
Remove the suction bell and install with new one.
Remove the oil drain valve and two pipe plugs.Install them in the new oil pan.
Install the new oil pan with new gasket and torquebolts evenly to 55 +/- 10 N m (41+/-7 lb ft).
Replace the dipstick and oil filter with new ones.Install the new ?L? shape bracket and connect the electrical connector.
Fill the engine sump with 48 Liters (12.6 US Gallons)of engine oil.
Before starting the engine, check the oil level.It should be slightly above the FULL mark. Start the engine, check forproper operation and leaks. Check the engine oil level again.
