Pressure Test for Transmission Oil Pump
Use the following procedure to check transmission oil pump pressure.
Illustration 5 g01246392The pressure tap for the transmission oil pump is located on the filter group. The filter group is located on the left side of the machine in front of the fuel tank.
Install the correct hose assembly from the 1U-5482 Pressure Adapter Group on pressure tap (11). Attach the opposite end of the hose assembly to the 0 to 3400 kPa (0 to 580 psi) pressure gauge in the 1U-5481 Pressure Gauge Group.
Start the engine and operate the engine at high idle. Observe the pressure gauges. With the oil at normal operating temperature, the transmission oil pump pressure must be within the values in Table 4. Pressure Adjustment for the Transmission Oil Pump
The main relief valve maintains the system pressure in the control section of the power train oil pump. Perform the following procedure in order to adjust the main relief valve.

The adjustment screw for the main relief valve is located under the cover in Illustration 6. Remove the four bolts that hold the cover in place. Remove the cover.

Loosen locking nut (5). Adjust the main relief valve. Refer to Table 4 for the proper pressure. Note: When locking nut (5) is being loosened, do not allow adjustment screw (6) to rotate. Note: One turn of adjustment screw (6) changes the main relief valve pressure by an increment of 235 kPa (34 psi).
Turn adjustment screw (6) until the desired pressure is attained.
Tighten locking nut (5) to a torque of 18 4 N m (13 3 lb ft). Note: When the locking nut is tightened, do not allow adjustment screw (6) to rotate.Pressure Test for Torque Converter Inlet
Install the correct hose assembly from the 1U-5482 Pressure Adapter Group on pressure tap (7). Refer to Illustration 1 and Illustration 2 for the location of the pressure tap. Attach the opposite end of the hose assembly to the 0 to 2000 kPa (0 to 290 psi) pressure gauge in the 1U-5481 Pressure Gauge Group.
Start the engine and operate the engine at high idle. Observe the pressure gauge. With the oil at normal operating temperature, the torque converter inlet pressure must be within the values in Table 4. Transmission Pressures
