This Program must be administered either before or after failure.In either case the decision whether to apply the Program is made by the dealer. When reporting the repair, use "PS44761" as the Part Numberand "7755" as the Group Number. If administered before failure, use "56" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and "T" as the SIMS Description code.If administered after failure, use "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code, and "Z" as the SIMS Description Code.
The information supplied in this service letter may not be valid after the termination date of this program.Do not perform the work outlined in this Service Letter after the termination date without first contacting your Caterpillar product analyst.
This Revised Service Letter replaces the 04Jun2015 Service Letter. Changes have been made to the Title, Problem, and Affected Product.

PROBLEM
The existing elbow can crack and leak on certain 3512B, 3512C, 3516C Marine Engines, 3516C Generator Sets, and PM3516C Power Modules. If the existing elbow cracks it could result in a coolant leak.

PARTS DISPOSITION
Handle the parts in accordance with your Warranty Bulletin on warranty parts handling.
Rework Procedure
Drain the Cooling system into a suitable container for reuse.
Retain all hardware for reuse.

1. Remove the Alternator Guard Bolts (1) and the Alternator Guard.
2. Remove the P-clip bolts (2) and the P-clip.
3. Remove the Bracket bolts (3) and the Bracket.
4. Remove the Fuel Line Clip bolt (4) and the clip.

5. Remove the 4 bolt clamp on the 3907470/">390-7470 Tube at the Oil Cooler flange.
6. Remove the 3907470/">390-7470 Tube. This can be done by pulling the bottom of the tube out and rotating.
7. Install new 6V-1454 O-ring and 6V-5066 O-ring on new 3907470/">390-7470 Elbow.
8. Utilizing the new 4N-1320 Gasket reassemble the engine by performing steps 1-6 in reverse order.
