Stopping the engine immediately after it has been working under load can result in overheating and accelerated wear of the engine components.Refer to the following stopping procedure, to allow the engine to cool, and to prevent excessive temperatures in the turbocharger center housing, (if equipped) which could cause oil coking problems.
Stopping The Engine From The Operator Compartment
Note: This procedure is used for shutting down the tractor engine and the scraper engine. When engine start switch (1) is turned to the OFF position, both engines will be shut down.
Use the procedure that is described in Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Stopping the Machine" in order to stop the machine.
Run the engine at low idle for 5 minutes. Do not stop the engine immediately after the engine has been working under load.

Turn engine start switch (1) to the OFF position. Remove the engine start switch key.

Note: Use the engine shutdown switch only when engine start switch (1) does not work or engine start switch (1) cannot be accessed.
Run the engine at low idle for 5 minutes. Do not stop the engine immediately after the engine has been working under load.
