Engine exhaust contains products of combustion which may be harmful to your health. Always start and operate the engine in a well ventilated area and, if in an enclosed area, vent the exhaust to the outside.
Automatic Starting
When the engine is in the AUTOMATIC mode, the engine can start at any moment. To avoid personal injury, always remain clear of the the engine when the engine is in the AUTOMATIC mode.
To enable automatic starting, the control panel must be in "AUTO" mode. To place the control panel into auto mode, press the "AUTO" key. The engine will automatically start when the remote start/stop initiate contact closes.Manual Starting
For initial start-up of a new or rebuilt engine, and for start-up of an engine that has been serviced, make provision to shut the engine off should an overspeed occur. This may be accomplished by shutting off the air and/or fuel supply to the engine.
Do not start the engine if there is a "DO NOT OPERATE" warning tag or a similar warning tag attached to the start switch. Do not move any of the controls if there is a "DO NOT OPERATE" warning tag or a similar warning tag attached to the controls.Ensure that no one will be endangered before the engine is started and when the engine is started.
Perform all of the procedures that are described in this Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Before Starting Engine".
Do not engage the starting motor when flywheel is turning. Do not start the engine under load.If the engine fails to start within 30 seconds, release the starter switch or button and wait two minutes to allow the starting motor to cool before attempting to start the engine again.
To start an engine with a control panel, press the "RUN" key.
