Check the resistance and the continuity between the flow tube electrodes and the flow meter.
Remove the flow meter or enough piping in order to gain access to flow tube electrodes (1) .
Remove the cover plate from the tube in order to access the terminal block.
Set Tooling (A) to measure the resistance (ohms).
Place negative "-" lead from the multimeter on the button for the upper electrode. Place positive "+" lead from the multimeter on the wire terminal. Record the reading.
Place negative "-" lead from the multimeter on the button for the lower electrode. Place positive "+" lead from the multimeter on the other wire terminal. Record the reading.
Make sure that you obtain values from both the lower readings and the upper readings. The upper values and the lower values will always have a large difference. For example, the lower reading may be 243.6 and the upper reading may be 0.3.
If there is no reading, an opening in the circuit exists. The flow meter requires repair.
