Track Roller Frame (1) Rear track roller frame (2) Access port for track adjustment (3) Antirotation key (4) Front track roller frame (5) Cartridge pin assemblyThe track roller frame can be separated into two sections. Front track roller frame (4) has a large tube assembly (10) which telescopes into rear track roller frame (1). Recoil spring (11) and the track adjuster are inside of the tube. A groove is machined in the outer diameter of the tube. An antirotation key (3) is installed in rear roller frame (1). After installation, the key is in alignment with the groove in the tube. The key will prevent any rotation of the tube inside the rear section of the roller frame, but the tube can slide in and out during recoil.Valves (6) are used for moving the front roller frame to adjust the track. Grease is pumped in the fill valve that is part of valves (6). The grease causes piston (9), guide assembly (8), inner cylinder (12), and retainer (13) to move to the right. The movement causes front track roller frame (4) to move out of rear track roller frame (1). The movement of the recoil rod and front idler tightens the track. The tension on the track is released by a relief valve that is part of valves (6).
To prevent personal injury, never visually inspect the vent holes or valves to see if the grease or oil is coming out of them. Make sure the vent holes are clean before the tension is released on the track. Watch the front roller frame to see that it moves.
Recoil Operation

Recoil Spring Assembly (6) Valves (7) Cylinder assembly (8) Guide assembly (9) Piston (10) Tube assembly (11) Spring (12) Cylinder (inner) (13) RetainerThe area on the inside of the outer cylinder assembly (7) is filled with oil or grease. During recoil, front track roller frame (4) moves to the left. The front frame moves toward the rear of the machine. This causes tube assembly (10) and piston (9) to move to the left. Outer cylinder assembly (7) does not move because outer cylinder assembly (7) matches against the surface of rear track roller frame (1). This creates hydraulic pressure in the oil chamber for cylinder assembly (7). The hydraulic pressure moves inner cylinder (12), retainer (13), and guide assembly (8) to the right toward the front of the machine. This action compresses the recoil spring.Cartridge Pin Assembly

Cartridge Pin (14) Inner collar (15) Outer collar (16) Cartridge pin (17) Thrust rings (18) Duo-Cone seals (19) BushingThe major bogies and the minor bogies pivot on cartridge pins. The cartridge pins are sealed and lubricated. The main components of the cartridge pins are pin (16), collars (14) and (15), bushing (19), two thrust rings (17) and two Duo-Cone seals (18) .Hollow pin (16) is used as an oil reservoir. Oil flows through the drilled holes in the pin for lubrication of bushing (19). The oil also keeps the seal surfaces wet.
