The alarm should sound anytime the transmission range selector is in REVERSE. The alarm sound level can be adjusted to HIGH (1), LOW (2) or MEDIUM (3), depending on job conditions.The alarm is set at the highest sound level when shipped from the factory.Fuses and Circuit Breakers
The fuse block is located inside the panel, left of the tractor service hour meter.
Check fuses when an electrical circuit does not function. Replace any fuses on which the filament has separated.
Reset any circuit breaker that has opened. Push in the red button to reset the circuit breaker.
Consult a Caterpillar dealer, if a circuit breaker opens repeatedly.
Steering Column Tilting
Push the lever down to UNLOCK the steering column. Move the column to the desired position.
Release the lever to LOCK the steering column.Heating and Air Conditioning - If Equipped With Cab
FAN - This switch controls the air flow speed.
OFF - Move the switch to the CENTER to turn the fan off.
Air Conditioning Control High (III) - Turn the switch counterclockwise one position to run the fan at high speed. This also activates the air conditioner. Medium (II) - Turn the switch one more position counterclockwise to run the fan at medium speed. Low (I) - Turn the switch one more position counterclockwise to run the fan at low speed.
Heating Control Low (I) - Turn the switch clockwise one position to run the fan at low speed. Medium (II) - Turn the switch one more position clockwise to run the fan at medium speed. High (III) - Turn the switch one more position clockwise to run the fan at high speed.Temperature Control
The knob can be set at any position to obtain the desired amount of cooling or heating.Air flow in the cab is regulated by adjusting the air flow louvers to the desired air flow pattern.Heating and Air Conditioning System Operation
The heating and cooling system can perform four functions.Heating
Turn the fan switch clockwise to low, medium or high speed. Adjust the temperature control for the desired temperature. Adjust the air flow louvers for the desired air flow pattern.Cooling
Turn the fan switch counterclockwise to low, medium or high speed. Adjust the temperature control for the desired temperature. Adjust the air flow louvers for the desired air flow pattern.Pressurizing
Pressure inside the cab will help keep dust out when heating or cooling is not desired.Turn the fan switch to the RIGHT to either low, medium or high speed, as needed to keep out dust. Adjust the air flow louvers for the desired air flow patters.Defogging
Turn on the air conditioning. Adjust temperature control until the moisture level is lowered, and the temperature is comfortable. Adjust the air flow louvers for the desired air flow pattern.Seat Adjustment
The seat must be adjusted at the beginning of each shift, or when operators change.Adjust the seat to allow full travel of all pedals with the operator seated against the seat back.The seat must be adjusted with the operator seated, and the engine running.
