Troubleshooting Test Steps Values Results
Test Step 1. The Manual Override Switch has Failed.
A. Remove the connector from the switch.
B. With the switch in the MANUAL position, then in the REMOTE position, measure the resistance between switch contacts.
Record the results.
Refer to Table 2.
The resistance measurements meet the specifications in Table 2. OK – The resistance measurements meet the specifications in Table 2.
Proceed to Test Step 2.
Not OK – The resistance measurements do not meet the specifications in Table 2.
Repair: Replace the Manual Override Switch and check the machine operation.
STOP.
Test Step 2. The Harness Between the Manual Override Switch and the ECM has Failed.
A. Using the system electrical schematic, check the harness and connectors between the Manual Override Switch and the ECM for:
Wire to wire shorts
Shorts to ground
Shorts to power
Open circuits
There are no defects in the harness or connectors between the Manual Override Switch and the ECM. OK – There are no defects in the harness or connectors between the Manual Override Switch and the ECM.
STOP.
Not OK – Defects are found in the harness.
Repair: Repair or replace the harness.
STOP.
