Automatic Lubrication System Troubleshooting
A problem must be identified and the problem must be defined before the problem can be corrected. When the problem is identified and the problem is defined proceed to the "Performance Checks" section. The following procedure should be used in order to help identify the problem. Also, use the following procedure in order to define the problem.
Do a visual inspection in order to help identify the problem.
Check within "Performance Checks" in order to help identify the problem.

Problem
Electronic control not working (no display).Probable Cause
Voltage supply interrupted.
Pilot oil pressure switch defective.
Voltage supply to printed circuit board interrupted.
Printed circuit board defective.
Loose or blown fuse.Note: Before replacing a faulty electronic control, inspect the electrical system for worn wiring or frayed wiring. Also, inspect the electrical system for damaged or loose connectors.Problem
Electronic control not working (display flashing).Probable Cause
Incorrect switch settings.Problem
Electronic control not working (display normal).Probable Cause
Wiring problem.Problem
Fault indicator is on. Pump on indicator flashes, but pump does not stroke when the "RESET" button is pressed.Probable Cause
Low hydraulic supply pressure at the lubrication pump.
Faulty lubrication pump.
Faulty pilot oil solenoid valve.
Printed circuit board defective.Problem
Fault indicator is on. Pump on indicator does not flash, but pump strokes when the "RESET" button is pressed.Probable Cause
Faulty electronic control.
Incorrect switch settings in the electronic control.Problem
Fault indicator is on. Pump strokes when the "RESET" button is pressed. Pressure gauge shows very low or no pressure.Probable Cause
Low lubricant level in tank.
Leak in lubrication system.
Faulty vent solenoid valve.
Faulty lubrication pump.
Air trapped in lubricant supply line to the injectors.Problem
Fault indicator is on. Pump strokes when the "RESET" button is pressed. Pressure gauge shows system is cycling normally.Probable Cause
Faulty lubricant pressure switch.
Wiring problem between the lubricant pressure switch and the electronic control.
Incorrect switch settings in the electronic control.Problem
Fault indicator is on. Pump strokes when the "RESET" button is pressed. Pressure gauge shows system is not reaching 18960 690 kPa (2750 100 psi) within cycle time.Probable Cause
Machine pilot oil pressure requires adjusting.
Automatic lubrication pressure reducing valve requires adjusting.
Faulty vent solenoid valve.
Leak in lubrication system.
Air trapped in lubricant supply line to the injectors.Problem
Injector indicator stem does not operate.Probable Cause
Air trapped in lubricant supply line to the injectors.
Vent solenoid valve faulty.
Faulty injector.Problem
Bearing heats up and system appears to operate properly.Probable Cause
Air trapped in lubricant supply line to the injectors.
Improper adjustment of injector output.

Over lubrication or under lubrication at lubrication points.Probable Cause
Setting of pump on time sequence or delay time sequence incorrect.
Injector metering not correct.Problem
Tank is hard to fill through the filler grease fitting.Probable Cause
Filler filter blocked.
