The key start switch and the disconnect switch remain in the OFF position.
Measure the resistance between contact C (252-YL) and contact D (262) at the connectors of the sensors.Expected Result:The resistance measurement is 60 6 ohms.Results:
YES - The resistance measurement is 60 6 ohms. Proceed to Test Step 4.
NO - The resistance measurement is NOT 60 6 ohms.Repair: Proceed to System Operation, Testing and Adjusting, "CAN Data Link".STOPTest Step 4. CHECK IF THE DIAGNOSTIC CODE REMAINS
Reconnect all of the connections for the harnesses.
Turn the key start switch and the disconnect switch to the "ON" position.
Move the "Power/Setup" switch on the display to the "ON" position.Expected Result:The diagnostic code is no longer active.Results:
OK - The diagnostic code is no longer active. The initial diagnostic code was probably caused by a poor electrical connection and/or a short at one of the harness connectors that was disconnected and then reconnected.Repair: Resume normal machine operation.STOP
NOT OK - The diagnostic code is still active.Repair: Contact your Technical Communicator for a possible consultation with Caterpillar.STOP
