Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

Vulnerable areas for water ingress
Ensure any loose material is removed and surfaces are cleaned.
Apply a bead of sealant. Ensure that bead is smoothed off before curing.Front Glass - Potential Leak Paths

Apply a back-fill bead of sealant.

Potential leak path
Water can enter through the work light grommets via the wiring harness. This then runs down the A-post and pools in the area shown, resulting in a foot well puddle.
Remove the headliner.
Apply the sealant around the wiring harness and grommet.Doors - Potential Leak Paths

Vulnerable areas for water ingress
Areas highlighted are potential leak paths, particularly when jet washing. Water ingress through these areas does not lead to puddles in the cab floor.Adjusting the door hinges and door lock striker plate can improve the door sealing.Note: Improper adjustment of the door hinges and/or door striker could result in a door which is hard to close/open, or broken door glass.

(A) BoltsAny leaks around the door seal should be checked for the following:
Rips & tears in the seal
Is the door fully latched? (2nd latch)
What version of door seal is installed?Doors also have an amount of horizontal adjustment on the door striker to adjust compression on the door seal versus closure effort.
Slacken the two M8 bolts as shown in Illustration 6.
Adjust and reposition the bolts.
Re-torque the bolts to 28 7 N m (248 62 lb in).
