Check and Adjust the Conveyor Drive Chain for the Auger
Personal injury can result from rotating and moving parts. Stay clear of all rotating and moving parts.Never attempt adjustments while the machine is moving or the engine is running unless otherwise specified.The machine must be parked on a level surface and the engine stopped.Attach a "Do Not Operate" or similar warning tag to the start switch and controls before servicing, repairing, or making adjustments to the machine.

The following checking procedure will verify whether the chain is adjusted properly.Check Procedure

To check the tension of the auger conveyor drive chain, grab the auger with both hands. Rotate the auger back and forth. If the auger rotates less than 19 mm 5 mm (0.75 inch), the drive chain needs to be adjusted.Adjustment Procedure

Note: The adjustment procedure applies to both auger conveyor drive chains.
Loosen four mounting bolts (1) .
Loosen jam nut (2) .
Turn adjusting nut (3) until the auger can be rotated 13 mm (0.50 inch) to 19 mm (0.75 inch).
Tighten mounting bolts (1) and jam nut (2) .
