Required Tools
Tool     Item     Part Number     Description
A     A1     1U-6605     Reflective Tape
A2 1U-7771 (1)     Phototach
B         4C-6500     Digital Thermometer
( 1 ) Tool (A2) is part of the 1U-6602 Photo-Tachometer .
Use the following procedure before you perform testing and adjusting:
Apply the parking brake.
Place the propel control lever in NEUTRAL.
Place tires under both drums.Note: The hydraulic oil temperature should be at least 38 °C (100 °F). Note: Apply a small piece of reflective tape from the 1U-6602 Phototach in the following locations on the machine:
Apply the reflective tape to the amplitude setting wheel on the three amplitude system.
Apply the reflective tape to the motor coupling on the dual amplitude system.
Start the engine. Operate the engine at high idle.
Apply the parking brake before putting the propel control lever in the FORWARD position. Push the propel control lever in the FORWARD position. Place the vibratory mode switch in the automatic position for the three amplitude system. Place the vibratory mode switch in high amplitude for the dual amplitude system. Start the vibratory system by depressing the button which is located in front of the propel control lever. Operate both drums for the tests. Record the vibrations per minute (vpm). There are two ways to measure vpm. You can record the vpm from the 1U-6602 Phototach. You can record the vpm from the optional gauge on the steering console.
Record the information on the vibratory frequency test on the following tables.Note: Verify the accuracy of the optional gauge on the control panel.

In order to stop the vibratory system, depress the button which is located in front of the propel control lever.
If the frequency is not correct, the vibratory pump must be adjusted.

Vibratory Pump Adjustment (1) Locknut (2) Adjustment screw
If the setting of the frequency is incorrect, adjust the adjustment screw (2). Loosen the locknut (1) on the adjustment screw (2). In order to increase the vpm, turn the adjustment screw (2) counterclockwise. In order to decrease the vpm, turn the adjustment screw (2) clockwise.
