ALTERNATOR GP-CHARGING 1564519 - Caterpillar

1. Put identification marks on the two wires, and remove them from switch (2).2. Remove the two bolts that hold tube assembly (4) to the power train oil pump.3. Disconnect hose assemblies (1) and (3) from power train oil pump (5). 4. Remove the plastic strap that fastens wiring harness (7) to the frame to prevent damage to the wiring harness while the power train oil pump is being removed.5. Attach a nylon strap and hoist to power train oil pump (5). Remove four bolts (8) and two nuts (9). While holding hose assembly (6) out of the way, remove power train oil pump (5). The weight of the power train oil pump is 39 kg (85 lb). The following steps are for installation of the power train oil pump.6. Use a hoist and nylon strap to put power train oil pump (5) in position, and install four bolts (8) and two nuts (9).7. Position harness assembly (7) on the frame, and install the plastic strap that holds it in place.8. Position hose assembly (6), and connect hose assemblies (1) and (3) to the power train oil pump.9. Install the two bolts that hold tube assembly (4) to the power train oil pump.10. Connect the two wires to switch (2).11. Check the power train oil level, and add as necessary.
