Release all the pressure in the hydraulic system prior to disconnecting any hydraulic oil lines. If the hydraulic oil pressure is not released completely, oil can spray out of the oil lines under high pressure. Failure to release system pressure completely can cause personal injury.
2. Lower the lift arms to the ground, and make sure all hydraulic system pressure is released. 3. Remove the cover from the coupler to provide access to the coupler cylinder.4. Mark the location of two hoses (1), and disconnect them from coupler cylinder (2).5. Unscrew pins (3) from each end of the cylinder, and remove coupler cylinder (2).6. Remove the two bolts from the back of the coupler assembly, and remove plate (4) and two pins (3).7. Install coupler cylinder (2) in the reverse order of removal.
When assembled, plate (4) must not contact the cylinder rod when pins (3) are retracted or extended. See location (X).
Disassemble And Assemble Coupler Cylinder (Quick)
START BY:a. remove coupler cylinder (quick) 1. Remove spiral ring (4) and nylon ring (3).2. Tap head assembly (1) toward the inside of the cylinder until spiral ring (2) can be removed. Remove spiral ring (2), and pull the rod, head and piston assembly from the cylinder housing. 3. Remove nut (9) and piston (8) from rod (5).4. Remove seal (7) and two rings (6) from piston (8). 5. Remove seal (10) from rod (5), and slide head assembly (1) from the rod. 6. Remove seal (11), seal (12) and seal (13) from the head assembly. The following steps are for assembly of the coupler cylinder.7. Check all seals for wear or damage, and install a new seal kit if necessary. Lubricate all seals with clean hydraulic oil during assembly.8. Assemble the coupler cylinder in the reverse order of disassembly.9. Install seal (12) with the lip pointing down. Install seal (11) with the lip pointing up toward the outside of the cylinder.10. Tighten nut (9) to a torque of 68 7 N m (50 5 lb.ft.).END BY:a. install coupler cylinder (quick)
