(X) Upper Frame (Y) Boom (Z) Boom Foot Pin Assembly
Measure the total clearance between the boom and the upper frame at the bore for the boom foot pin assembly. The total clearance of Dimension (a) plus Dimension (b) must not be more than 0.80 mm (0.03 inch). If the total clearance is less than 0.80 mm (0.03 inch), the addition of shims between the boom and the upper frame will not be required. If the total clearance is more than 0.80 mm (0.03 inch), add the correct thickness of shims in order to obtain the required clearance.
Install the correct number of shims (21) .

Note: Apply a thin coat of Tooling (C) onto pin assembly (20) .
Install pin assembly (20) in the upper frame and in the boom.
Install bolt (19) in pin assembly (28). Tighten bolt (19) to a torque of 460 60 N m (340 44 lb ft).
Remove the suitable lifting device from the boom.

Pull hose assemblies (16) under the main control valve and install clamp (17) .

Connect hose assemblies (16) onto the back of the main control valve.

Connect harness assembly (15) .

Use a suitable lifting device in order to install hood (9) .

Improper assembly of parts that are spring loaded can cause bodily injury.To prevent possible injury, follow the established assembly procedure and wear protective equipment.
Install bolts (11) .
Connect struts (10) .
Lower hood (9) .

Position condenser (8) and install bolts (7) .

Use a suitable lifting device in order to raise boom cylinder (2). The weight of boom cylinder (2) is approximately 204 kg (450 lb). Use Tooling (B) and a suitable hammer in order to drive pin (6) into boom cylinder (2).

Install shims (5), retainer plate (4), and bolts (3) in order to secure boom cylinder (2). Tighten bolts (3) to a torque of 100 20 N m (75 15 lb ft).

Connect hose assembly (1) .
Repeat Step 17 through Step 19 for the remaining boom cylinder.End By: Install the stick. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Stick - Install".
