ALTERNATOR GP-CHARGING 2224389 - Caterpillar

Rework lower engine shield. Use 468-2710 Tube As (3) with 365-0036 Bracket As (4) and 3P-9847 Clip (6) as a template. 365-0036 Bracket As (4) and 3P-9847 Clip (6) are secured together using one 8T-4136 Bolt (7) and one 8T-4121 Hard Washer (10) .

(A) 18.8 mm (0.7 inch) (B) 8.8 mm (0.3 inch) (C) 20.2 mm (0.8 inch)
Locate and drill two 10.5 mm (0.4 inch) diameter holes as shown in Illustration 4. Make sure 468-2710 Tube As (3) is centered in the shield opening.

Mount 365-0036 Bracket As (4) onto the shield by installing two 8T-7547 Bolts (8) and two 5P-4116 Hard Washers (9). Secure 365-0036 Bracket As (4) on the opposite side of the shield by attaching two more 5P-4116 Hard Washers (9) along with two 344-5674 Nuts (16) (not shown). Tighten the bolts (8) to 28 7 N m (21 5 lb ft).Note: You will need a backing wrench on the nuts (16) to tighten down the bolts.
Insert 468-2710 Tube As (3) through both the Clip (6) and the access hole in the shield. Refer to Illustration 2 for orientation.Note: Do not tighten 3P-9847 Clip (6) around Tube (3) to allow for alignment of hoses installed on each open end.

Assemble 332-4022 Hose (1) onto the radiator using one 209-4573 Clamp (5) .
Connect the free end of 332-4022 Hose (1) onto 468-2710 Tube As (3) and secure using one 209-4573 Clamp (5) .
Assemble DEF coolant hose (D) onto fitting of 468-2710 Tube As (3) and secure with one 443-3947 Hose Clamp (12) .

Assemble 165-2273 Shutoff Valve Gp (11) onto 468-2710 Tube As (3). Orient 165-2273 Shutoff Valve Gp (11) as shown in Illustration 7.
Secure 453-0930 Hose (2) onto the end of 468-2710 Tube As (3) using one 209-4573 Clamp (5). Refer to Illustration 7 for orientation.
Attach 5P-0767 Hose (15) onto 165-2273 Shutoff Valve Gp (11) and secure with one 443-3947 Hose Clamp (12) .
Connect the open end of 453-0930 Hose (2) onto the cooling system at (E) using one 209-4573 Clamp (5). Refer to Illustration 7 for orientation.
Secure 5P-0767 Hose (15) and 453-0930 Hose (2) together where shown in Illustration 7 using one 200-6345 Mount (14) and two 7K-1181 Cable Straps .
Continue to route 5P-0767 Hose (15) towards the front and out the bottom of the machine.
Check that all connections and clamps are tight and
