Information:
Fuel leaked or spilled onto hot surfaces or electrical components can cause a fire. To help prevent possible injury, turn the start switch off when changing fuel filters or water separator elements. Clean up fuel spills immediately.
Use a suitable container to catch any fuel that might spill. Clean up any spilled fuel immediately.
Do not allow dirt to enter the fuel system. Thoroughly clean the area around a fuel system component that will be disconnected. Fit a suitable cover over any disconnected fuel system components.
Do not crank the engine continuously for more than 30 seconds. Allow the starting motor to cool for two minutes before cranking the engine again.
The fuel system should be purged of air at the initial start-up, after fuel system service, or after an extended time without an engine start.

Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
Purging air from the fuel system requires the air purge valve (1) to be opened. Install a 3/8 inch ID hose to the fitting and route the hose to a suitable container to catch the fuel during priming. Turn the air purge fitting counterclockwise one-half turn and adjust as needed. Do not remove the fitting.
Turn the ignition switch to the ON position (NOT the Crank/Remote Start) position. Turning the ignition switch to the ON position will activate the off-engine electric priming pump for 150 seconds without cranking the engine.
Observe the air purge valve. When fuel appears at the purge valve or at the hose end, close the air purge valve. After the purge valve has been closed, tighten the purge valve. Tighten the purge valve hand-tight. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position. If fuel was not observed at the air purge valve or at the end of the hose, repeat the procedure. Note: Failure to tighten all fittings could result in fuel leaks.
Clean any residual fuel from the engine components.
