Information:

Which Generate This Code:The engine crankcase pressure has exceeded the setpoint and the delay time has expired.System Response:The event code will be logged.NoneThere may be a problem with one of the following engine components:
Plugged crankcase breather
Crankcase pressure sensor
Worn engine componentsTest Step 1. Check the Crankcase Breather
Check for a plugged crankcase breather.A plugged crankcase breather will cause excessive crankcase pressure. Leakage of the crankshaft seal can occur. Sealing of the piston rings can be lost. The crankcase blowby will increase the crankcase pressure. Results:
The crankcase breather is plugged. - Repair: Clean the crankcase breather.STOP
The crankcase breather is not plugged. - Continue to Test Step 2.Test Step 2. Check the Crankcase Pressure Sensor
Inspect the crankcase pressure sensor for cleanliness. If the sensor is fouled, clean the sensor. If the condition is corrected, put the engine back in service. If the condition is not corrected, proceed to the next step.
Replace the crankcase pressure sensor with a sensor that is known to be good. Results:
The condition is corrected. - STOP
The condition is not corrected. - Continue to test Step 3.Test Step 3. Check for Worn Engine Components
Damaged pistons or rings can cause too much pressure in the crankcase. This condition will cause the engine to run rough. There will be more than the normal fumes (blowby) rising from the crankcase breather. The breather can then become restricted quickly, causing oil leakage at gaskets and seals that would not normally have leakage. Blowby can also be caused by worn valve guides or by a failed turbocharger seal.
The 8T-2700 Blowby/Air Flow Indicator is used to check the amount of blowby. Refer to Special Instruction, SEHS8712, "Using the 8T-2700 Blowby/Air Flow Indicator " for the test procedure for checking the blowby.Expected Result:A thorough inspection revealed a problem. Results:
OK - There is a problem with an engine component.Repair: Repair the problem. Ensure that the repair eliminates the problem.STOP
