Remove spiral retaining ring (16), retainer (15), spring (14), and poppet (13) from valve spool (12).Assemble Torque Converter Outlet Relief Valve
Cleanliness is an important factor. Before assembly, all parts should be thoroughly cleaned in cleaning fluid. Allow the parts to air dry. Wiping cloths or rags should not be used to dry parts. Lint may be deposited on the parts which may cause later trouble. Inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement. 1. Put poppet (13), spring (14) and retainer (15) in position in valve spool (12). Install retaining ring (16).2. Install valve spool (12), spacer (11), and spring (10) in position in the valve body. Spacers (12) are used to adjust the pressure that is needed to open the torque converter outlet relief valve. For the correct procedure, refer to testing and adjusting for the machine that is being serviced. 3. Install O-ring (9) in valve body (1). 4. Install cover (8) with washers and bolts (7).
