1. Remove bolt (1) from the clip, and disconnect sensor connector (2).2. Remove speed/timing sensor (3). The following steps are for the installation of the speed/timing sensor.3. Check the condition of the O-ring seal on the end of the speed/timing sensor. If the seal is worn or damaged, use a new part for replacement. Install the O-ring seal on the end of the speed/timing sensor.
The No. 1 piston must be at either top center of the compression stroke or top center of the exhaust stroke. After sensor installation the electronic ignition timing must be recalibrated. See the topic, "Calibrating Electronic Ignition Timing with the Timing Adapter Tool Group and the ECAP" in the "Systems Operation Testing And Adjusting" module, Form No. SENR5561.
4. Install speed/timing sensor (3). Tighten it to a torque of 40 3 N m (30 2 lb ft). Connect sensor connector (2).5. Position the clip, and install bolt (1).
