Information:
1. Start the machine, and lower the stick and bucket to the ground.
At operating temperature, the hydraulic oil tank is hot and under pressure. Hot oil can cause burns. Remove the filler cap on the hydraulic oil tank only when the engine is stopped, and the filler cap is cool enough to touch with your bare hand. Be sure all the hydraulic pressure is released before any fittings, hoses or components are loosened, tightened, removed or adjusted.
Do not remove any valve, hydraulic fitting or valve core, nor disassemble any parts until pressure has been released. Failure to release pressure can cause personal injury or death.
The following steps are to release the pressure in the system:a. Shut off engine.b. With operator in seat and bucket on ground, engage selector valve (pilot control) and actuate an implement control lever about ten times to release pressure in hydraulic system.c. Press the relief valve button on the hydraulic tank breather to release the tank pressure.2. Release the pressure in the implement hydraulic system. 3. Remove bolts (1) and the washers. Remove covers (2) from the bucket pin and bucket cylinder pins. 4. Be sure the threaded puller hole in the bucket cylinder pin is clean prior to installation of Tooling (A). Fasten Tooling (A) to bucket cylinder pin (3) as shown. Attach a lifting sling to Tooling (A) as shown. Secure the lifting sling to a suitable hoist to support Tooling (A).5. Using Tooling (A), remove bucket cylinder pin (3).6. Retract the bucket cylinder until the bucket hangs vertical from the boom.7. Repeat steps 2 through 5 for the remaining bucket cylinder. Put identification on all lines, hoses, wires and tubes for installation purposes. Cap and plug all lines, hoses and tubes to prevent foreign material from entering the system.8. Disconnect and cap two hydraulic hose assemblies (4) going to the bottom dump cylinders. Move the hydraulic hose assemblies out of the way. 9. Be sure the threaded puller hole in the bucket pin is clean prior to installation of Tooling (B). Attach a lifting device to Tooling (B) as shown. Secure the lifting device to a suitable hoist to support Tooling (B).10. Using Tooling (B), remove bucket pin (5). The weight of the bucket pin is 397 Kg (875 lb).11. Start the machine, and raise the stick out of the bucket. The weight of the bucket is 18900 Kg (41650 lb) for the Front Shovel and 9750 Kg (21500 lb) for the Mass Excavator. The following steps are for the installation of the bucket. Check all components for wear or damage and replace if necessary. Apply 1U-6396 O-ring Compound to all O-ring seals prior to installation, if applicable.
Be sure the bucket cylinder pin bores, bucket pin bore, bucket pin and bucket cylinder pins are thoroughly clean prior to installation of the bucket.
12. Start the machine, and lower the stick in the bucket until the pin bores are in alignment with each other. 13. Be sure the threaded puller hole in the
