Lifting Operation
Before you install the lifting device on the machine set the parking brake and set the engine to the off position. All four of the lifting eyes must be used at the same time to lift the machine. The four lifting devices must be the same length. The length of the lifting devices should be approximately 4 meters (13 feet). Ensure that all people are away from the machine. The tracks can cause damage to the lifting device. A chain should be used for the bottom of your lifting system. Check the condition of the lifting eyes before every lift. If one or more of the lifting eyes are damaged consult your Caterpillar dealer. The combined maximum capacity of the four lifting eyes is 21000 kg (46297 lb). Do not exceed the maximum lifting capacity of the lifting eyes.Note: The four lifting eyes are not designed for towing. Serious damage can occur to the lifting eyes from improper use. The drawbar should be used for towing. Tying down operation
A new bottom guard is installed on the machine. The front tie-downs are not accessible with the new bottom guard. The C-frame can be used for towing from the front of the machine.
