Use Tooling (A) to remove crankshaft gear (2) from crankshaft (1) .

Install drive pin (3) .
Always wear protective gloves when handling parts that have been heated.
Note: Do not use a torch to heat the gear. The gear can be warped if a torch is used. The hardness of the gear may also be changed with the use of a torch.
Preheat the oven to a maximum temperature of 210° C (410° F).
Heat crankshaft gear (2) in the oven for a maximum of one hour.
Install crankshaft gear (2) on the end of crankshaft (1) . Ensure that slot (4) in crankshaft gear (2) is aligned with drive pin (3) .

Use Tooling (B) to seat crankshaft gear (2) against shoulder (5) of crankshaft (1) .
Use Tooling (C) to ensure that crankshaft gear (2) is seated against shoulder (5) on crankshaft (1) .Note: Check the crankshaft gear in three places with Tooling (C) .
