Remove the bolt or the nut.2. Clean the bolt, the nut and/or the stud with a wire brush.3. Apply blue Loctite 242 to the threads of the bolts, nuts and/or studs before assembly.4. A new bolt with a previously applied thread lock is acceptable for use.5. Tighten the bolts, the nuts and/or the studs to the standard torque.Note: Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Gear Group (Front) - Time" for the backlash adjustment procedure.

13     1     031-3185 Bolt     Lightly lubricate O-ring seal (12) with 50/50 mixture of 8T-2998 Lubricant and clean engine oil.
Tightening sequence for bolts (13) 1, 4, 2, 5, 3, 6, 1, 4
Torque bolts (13) to
240 40 N m (177 30 lb ft)    
14     -     -     Install the oil groove of the thrust plate toward the face of gear assembly (7).    
15     -     -     Install the oil groove of the thrust plate toward the face of gear assembly (5).    
16     -     -     Install the oil groove of the thrust plate toward the face of cluster gear assembly (2).
