Information:
Personal injury can result from flame cutting or welding on painted areas. The effect of gasses from burned paint is a hazard to the person doing the cutting or welding.Do not flame cut or weld on painted areas.
Do not torch or weld on painted areas. The effect of gasses from burned paint is a danger to the person doing the cutting or welding.
Do not ground the welder to electrical components such as the ECM or sensors. Improper grounding can cause damage to the drive train bearings, hydraulic components, electrical components, and other components.Clamp the ground cable from the welder to the component that will be welded. Place the clamp as close as possible to the weld. This will help reduce the possibility of damage.
Before carrying out arc welding on the machine or on any equipment attached to the machine, disconnect all power and ground leads from the batteries in order to avoid possible damage to electronic components.

Installation Procedure
Illustration 3 g02728020
Measure the distance between the top of the inner rear frame (A) to the top of the outer front frame (B). If the distance (D) is greater than 10 mm (0.39 inch), then add plate to the bottom surface of front frame (C). Initial gap (D) will be approximately 2 mm (0.08 inch) for a new machine. Refer to Table1 for the correct plates to use per model and gap size.
Remove undercarriage from the machine. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly Manual, KENR8831, "Undercarriage – Remove". Pull the front frame from the main frame. Remove any paint and debris from the frame at the mounting location for the wear plates.

(E) Plug weld holes and grind flush
(F) 23 mm (0.90 inch)
(G) Flush with end of bottom Plate
(H) Maintain weld profile below surface
Weld the wear plates onto the frame. Refer to Illustration 4 for welding instructions.
Allow the welds to cool slowly to ambient temperature.
Remove all debris from the welds and from the welded area.
Paint the welded areas.
Install undercarriage onto the machine. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly Manual, KENR8831, "Undercarriage – Install".
