Information:
Grade and Slope
The Grade and Slope system uses built-in machine position sensing cylinders on the side plates or sonic sensors to measure elevations of milling surfaces, or a slope sensor to measure the machine’s slope. When the system is in "Auto" mode, the system controls the hydraulics of the machine to maintain intended Target values.Grade and Slope pages and settings are accessible by pressing the round button that is on the left side of the Display.
Illustration 1 g06045892The system uses one or two displays at the operator station and one or two displays at the ground level. The system compares the measured position against a preset value. The system feeds the measured values back to the operator through the display. The system can also automatically drive the hydraulics to maintain the preset values.Conventional Guidance Methods
Depending on the sensors that are installed, the system supports the following conventional guidance methods:
Elevation
Elevation plus Elevation
Elevation plus Cross Slope
Cross SlopeRefer to the following information for the configuration options:Elevation
Elevation guidance enables the operator to set the depth to maintain a constant height, relative to a reference elevation.Elevation plus Elevation
Elevation plus elevation guidance provides independent grade guidance to each side of the machine. Each side would utilize a different grade reference.Elevation plus Cross Slope
Elevation plus cross slope guidance enables you to set and maintain the height on one side and control the desired cross slope on the other side. Any of the elevation sensors can be used on the elevation side when the angle sensor will be utilized for the other side.Cross Slope
Cross slope guidance enables you to set and maintain a constant slope, as viewed in the direction of travel of the machine.Cross slope guidance is useful for maintaining the slope of the roads.
