2. Remove adapter (3) that connects manifolds after removing twelve bolts (1).3. Remove bolt (2) for wiring.4. Remove elbow (5) and tube (4) as a unit after removing three bolts (6) that hold the elbow to the manifold.5. Remove bolt (10) that connects governor linkage (7) to the governor lever (9).6. Remove four bolts (8) that hold bracket (11) for governor control to cylinder head (left head only).7. Disconnect water line for air compressor (right head only).8. Remove the eighteen bolts (12) that hold the cylinder head to the cylinder block.9. Install four 3/8"-16NC eyebolts in the cylinder head.10. Remove the cylinder head with a hoist. Weight is 320 lb. (145 kg).Install Cylinder Heads
A new gasket must be installed between spacer plate and cylinder block. See INSTALL SPACER PLATES.
1. Install new head gasket and seals.2. Install four 3/8"-16NC eyebolts in the cylinder head and put cylinder head in position with a hoist. Remove eyebolts.3. Put 9M3710 Anti-Seize Compound on the threads of the bolts that hold the cylinder head to the cylinder block.4. Install the bolts and tighten them using the following steps: 1. Tighten all bolts in number sequence to 130 lb.ft. (17.9 mkg).2. Again tighten all bolts in number sequence to 180 5 lb.ft. (24.9 0.7 mkg).3. Do Step 2 again.5. Connect air compressor water line (right head only).6. Install four bolts (3) that hold bracket (2) for governor control to cylinder head (left head only).7. Install bolt (4) that holds governor linkage (1) to governor lever (5) (left hand only).8. Install elbow (7) and tube (6) as a unit and install three bolts (8) that hold the elbow to the exhaust manifold.9. Install bolt (10) for wiring.10. Install adapter (9) to the manifolds with twelve bolts (11).end by: a) install camshaft housingb) install turbocharger
