Creating a Level Surface
A level surface requires an elevation and a name. Creating a level surface generates a design file. The design file then needs to be loaded for the system to give machine guidance.In order to create and load a level surface in the field, complete the following steps:
Press "Design: <Name>" from any guidance view. The "Select Design File" dialog appears. Refer to Illustration 1.

Press "New Level". The "New Design: Level Surface" dialog appears. Refer to Illustration 2.

Do one of the following actions:
Press the "Here" soft key in order to use the current elevation at the guidance point that has focus.
After you press the "Here" soft key, you can still use the arrow keys to change the values.
One of the "Bucket: Left" or "Bucket: Right" soft keys appears in the Level Surface Design dialog. This ensures that you know which Bucket tip the position is taken from.
Use the arrow keys to enter the design elevation.Note: If the "Here" soft key is not available, it means that a high accuracy position is not available. For more information, Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Troubleshooting Techniques".
Press "OK" in order to confirm the settings.The "Design Name" dialog appears:Refer to Illustration 3.Note: The AccuGrade System gives the design a default name.

If required, edit the default name, then press "OK" in order to accept the name and return to the "Select Design File" dialog.The design just created is highlighted.
Press "OK" in order to load the new level surface design, and return to the plan view guidance screen.
