Note: Battery access covers are located on both the left and right side of the machine outside the operator compartment.
Keep the batteries fully charged. Temperature affects the cranking power of the batteries. Keep the batteries warm. The engine will not crank if the battery is too cold. A warm engine will not crank if the batteries are too cold.Note: The batteries may not fully recharge if the engine has only operated for short periods of time. Make sure that the alternator is properly functioning. The alternator will charge the battery. If the alternator is properly functioning, the alternator helps to prevent freezing of the battery.Inspect the Starting Motors

Left side of engineIf the turbocharger fails during engine operation, severe damage to the turbocharger compressor wheel can result. If the turbocharger fails during engine operation, severe damage to the engine can also result. For example, damage to the turbocharger compressor wheel could cause parts from the compressor wheel to enter the engine cylinder. These parts from the compressor wheel can cause additional damage to the following engine components: pistons, intake valves, exhaust valves and cylinder head.Note: Turbocharger bearing failures can cause large quantities of oil to enter the intake system and the exhaust system. Loss of engine lubricant can result in serious engine damage. If no turbocharger bearing failure has occurred, minor leakage of a turbocharger housing during an extended period of operation at low idle will not cause problems. Do not continue to operate the engine when a turbocharger bearing failure is accompanied by a significant loss of engine performance. One of the following characteristics will be present with a loss of engine performance.
Engine smoke
Speeding up of the engine with no loadInspect the Water Pump
Failure of the engine water pump may cause severe engine overheating problems such as cracks in the cylinder head or piston
