Do not let any dirt or foreign material get into the hydraulic system during assembly, connection of lines, when the system is filled with fluid or during any maintenance operation.
Always use a hoist of correct load capacity.
(1) Remove the draft frame and any other parts that were put in the scraper bowl for shipment. Remove all brackets, hooks and plates used for shipment. Grind all weld points smooth. Fill any gap in the bowl with weld and grind these points smooth. Remove the cover from the draft frame tube. Remove parts that were put inside the draft tube for shipment. (2) Install trunnion (1) (both sides). Tighten bolts (2) to a torque of 185 10 lb. ft. (25.6 1.3). Install the draft frame. Install caps (3) and bolts (4) (both sides). Tighten bolts (4) to a torque of 440 35 lb. ft. (60.8 4.8). (3) Install washers to the hitch as shown. Connect the tractor to the scraper. Install upper pin (5) and lower pin (6) with yokes, locks, lockwashers and bolts. (4) Connect the bowl lift cylinders with pins (7). Install apron lift link (8) with pin assemblies (9) and (10) as shown. (5) Install steering link pins (11) and (12) with yokes, locks, lockwashers and bolts. Install steering cylinder (13) (both sides) with pins, yokes, lockwashers and bolts. (6) Install steering block assembly (14) as shown. Install steering hoses (15) and (16) with seals, flanges, lockwashers and bolts (both sides). Connect follow-up cylinder (17) with spacers, lockwashers, washers and bolts. (7) Remove hitch shipping stops (18) (both sides). Install scraper control lines (A), (B), (C), (D), (E) and (F) as shown with seals, flanges, lockwashers and bolts. (8) Install ejector lines (19) and (20) as shown. (9) Install parking brake line (21), brake trip line (22) and emergency brake signal line (23). On the 627B only, install scraper governor control line (24). Connect battery ground cable (25) and cable (26). If the 627B Scraper is equipped with a retarder, connect the retarder line at location (G). Install all clips and straps. (10) On the 627B only, connect starting motor cables (27) and (28) and install covers (29). (11) Install steering lines (30) and (31) with seals, flanges, lockwashers and bolts. Install two brackets (32). (12) Install bracket (33). Install quick drop line (34) and bowl check line (35). Install lines (36), (37), (38) and (39). (13) On the 621B, connect lines (21), (22) and (23) to brackets (32) and (33).
