Calibration Procedure
Note: Before you perform the calibration, make sure that the units of the calibration tool match the units of the scanner (°C or °F). Calibration must be performed in an environment with low levels of electromagnetic interference (EMI).
Connect a calibration tool to the terminals for channel 1. Refer to Systems Operation, "Wiring". Use wiring of type K.The scanner must be calibrated on channel 1 only. The calibration of channel 1 is the calibration for all of the channels.Note: During the calibration procedure, 60 seconds are allowed between keystrokes. If 60 seconds elapse without a keystroke, the scanner automatically returns to the normal mode. The previous calibration is saved.
Depress the "SETUP" key and simultaneously press the "RESET" and "SETPTS" keys."CAL" (calibration) is displayed.
Press the "ENTER/ACK" key."SET LO PT" is displayed.
Adjust the calibration tool for a very low reading such as 4 °C (40 °F) and press the "ENTER/ACK" key."SAMPLING" is displayed first.
When "ADJUST LO PT" is displayed, use the up arrow key or the down arrow key to change the display in order to match the setting of the calibration tool. Press the "ENTER/ACK" key."SET HI PT" is displayed.
Adjust the calibration tool for a very high reading such as 538 °C (1000 °F) and press the "ENTER/ACK" key."SAMPLING" is displayed first.
When "ADJUST HI PT" is displayed, use the up arrow key or the down arrow key to change the display in order to match the setting of the calibration tool. Press the "ENTER/ACK" key.The new calibration is saved only after the "ENTER/ACK" key is pressed and "SAVED" is displayed.After a successful calibration, "SAVED" is displayed and the scanner returns to the normal screen. The new calibration values are stored in permanent memory.To exit the function without saving any changes, press the "ESC" key before you press the "ENTER/ACK" key.
