This test will show the following conditions if the conditions exist:
The torque converter inlet relief valve is closed.

Make sure that the filters and the screens are clean before you test any pressures. Make sure that the oil is at operating temperature before you perform this test.
Inlet pressure to the torque converter must not be over 955 95 kPa (139 14 psi) with cold oil. Higher pressures will damage the torque converter. Adjustment of the inlet relief valve must only be done during a bench test.
Park the machine on a smooth, level surface.
Place the transmission control lever in the NEUTRAL position.
Engage the parking brake.
Allow only authorized personnel on the machine. Keep unauthorized personnel off the machine and in clear sight of the operator.
Install the steering frame lock.
Place blocks in front of the wheels and behind the wheels. Test Procedure

(1) Pressure tap for the torque converter inlet pressure
(2) Location to install Tooling B4
Install Tooling B4 in location (2), between the face of the hose coupling and the manifold on the side of the transmission.
Install Tooling B to pressure tap (1).
Be certain that the transmission oil is at the correct operating temperature of 82° to 139°C (180° to 250°F) .
With the parking brake engaged, start and run the engine at high idle rpm with the transmission in NEUTRAL. Check the pressure on the gauge. Refer to Table 1 for the correct pressures.
When this test is complete, stop the engine and remove the test equipment. Problem: The pressure of the transmission charging pump section is correct and the torque converter inlet pressure is too low.

(3) Torque converter inlet relief valve (Located under transmission hydraulic control relief valve)
Torque converter inlet relief valve (3) is open.
There is too much leakage in the transmission hydraulic control.
There are worn seals in a clutch of the transmission. Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Transmission Hydraulic Control Clutch Pressure - Test".
The torque converter outlet relief valve is not correctly set. Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Relief Valve (Torque Converter Outlet) Pressure - Test and Adjust".
Adjustment of the torque converter inlet relief valve must only be carried out on a bench test procedure
Problem: The torque converter inlet pressure is too high.
