Remove seal ring (20) from hub (18) .

Remove bearing cone (21) from hub (18) .

Remove bearing cup (22) from hub (18) .

Remove O-ring seal (25) from hub (18) .
Remove ten wheel studs (23) from the hub, if necessary. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Wheel Stud Bolts - Remove and Install (Rear Axle)" in this manual.

Use a pry bar to remove round plate (26) from the wheel hub.

Note: During the removal of the brake springs, the brake shoe linings can be damaged. Use a small wood block in order to protect the linings of the brake shoes during the removal of the brake spring.
Position a small wood block (28) on the lining of brake shoe (29), as shown. Use Tooling (F) to remove brake springs (27). Make sure that Tooling (F) reacts against wood block (28) and does not react against the lining of brake shoe (29) .

Use a pry bar to remove locking plate (30). Locking plate (30) is located at the bottom on the brake shoes.

Use Tooling (G) to remove two pins (31) .
Remove both brake shoes (29) from the anchor.
Disconnect the hose assembly that is connected to the back side of the brake cylinder. Put a plug in the end of the hose assembly. Put a cap on the brake cylinder. Plugs and caps prevent oil loss. Plugs and caps prevent contaminating the hydraulic system.

Remove two bolts (33). Remove brake cylinder (32) from the anchor.

Mark anchor (34) in order to ensure the correct orientation during the assembly.
Remove two socket head bolts (35). Make sure that the two bolts are separated by 180 degrees.

Install Tooling (H) in the place of the two bolts that were removed. Make sure that Tooling (H) is screwed into the axle housing. Remove the remaining socket head bolts (35) that hold anchor (34) to the axle housing. Remove the anchor from the housing for the rear axle.

Remove wheel hub (36) from the housing for the rear axle.
