TYPICAL EXAMPLE1. Remove cover (1).2. Remove guard (2).
TYPICAL EXAMPLE3. Disconnect hose (3).4. Disconnect control cables from the valve.5. Remove the control valve. See Special Instruction FORM NO. SMHS-6847 if more detail is needed to install and adjust the winch control valve. 6. Make sure O-ring seals (4) and gasket (5) are in position on the control valve. Install the control valve on the winch. 7. Install control cables (6) (drum disconnect only) (7) and (8).8. Connect hose (3).9. Adjust Winch Control Linkage. See Testing and Adjusting.10. start by: a) remove winch control valve (without drum disconnect) 1. Disconnect lever (2) from the shaft.2. Remove twelve point head bolts (1). Remove the pressure control valve from the selector valve. 3. Remove gasket (3) and O-ring seals (4) from the selector valve.4. Disconnect the link and lever (2) from valve spool (5). 5. Remove cover (6) from the valve body. 6. Remove valve spool (5) from the valve body.7. Remove covers (7) from the valve body. 8. Remove stop (8) and valve spool (9) from the valve body.
There is spring force behind bolt (13).
9. Remove bolt (13). Remove retainer (11), spring (10) and retainer (12) from valve spool (5). 10. Remove flange (14).11. Remove bushing (15) from the valve body. 12. Remove O-ring seals (16) and (17) from bushing (15). Follow Steps 16 through 17 if a later control valve is disassembled.
EARLIER VALVE13. Remove cover assembly (18) from the pressure control valve.14. Remove plug (19). Remove O-ring seal (20) from the plug. 15. Remove valve (21) from cover assembly (18).
LATER VALVE16. Remove plug (22). Remove the O-ring seal from the plug.17. Remove spring (23) and valve spool (24) from the cover assembly. Remove the O-ring seal (not shown) from the cover assembly.
There is spring pressure behind bracket assembly (26) and cover (27).
18. Remove bracket assembly (26). Remove keys (28), the washers, lever (25), the shaft and the O-ring seal from bracket (26).19. Remove cover (27). 20. Remove bearings (29) from bracket (26). 21. Remove both springs (34) and valve spools (32) from the valve body. Remove slugs (33) from the valve spools.22. Remove piston (30) and spring assembly (31) from the valve body.23. Remove retainer (35) and spring assembly (36) from the valve body.Assemble Winch Control Valve
1. Clean and inspect all parts. Make a replacement of the parts that are worn or damaged. Put clean SAE 10W oil on all parts at assembly. Follow Steps 4 through 5 if a later valve is assembled.
EARLIER VALVE2. Install the O-ring seal on plug (3).3. Install valve (2) and plug (3) in cover assembly (1).
LATER VALVE4. Put valve spool (6) and spring (5) in position in the cover assembly.5. Install the O-ring seal on plug (4). Install plug (4). 6. Put slugs (10) in position in valve spools (9).
