(11) Outlet passage Pump supply oil enters the hydraulic motor through inlet port (1). The pump supply oil flows from inlet port (1) through the passage in valve plate (4). The pump supply oil flows through inlet passage (3). The high-pressure oil initiates a force against the piston (5). The force against piston (5) pushes the piston out of rotating group (7). The piston that is pushing out of rotating group (7) will push shoe (8) against swashplate (9). The force of the piston causes the shoe to slide on swashplate (9). This will initiate the rotation of rotating group (7). As rotating group (7) turns, spring (6) holds rotating group (7) against swashplate (9).As the shoes follow the angle of swashplate (9), the pistons start to move back into the rotating group. When rotating group (7) rotates over outlet passage (11), the oil will be pushed out of the rotating group. The low-pressure oil will flow out of the motor through the passage in valve plate (4) to fan motor outlet (2).Oil that has leaked within the motor lubricates the components of the motor. The oil then flows out of the motor through case drain (10).

(12) Makeup valve The piston motor is equipped with a makeup valve. The makeup valve will allow oil that is exiting the hydraulic motor to return to the motor inlet during the reduction of flow from the pump or a complete shutdown. If the pressure at outlet port (2) is higher than the pressure in inlet port (1), oil will open makeup valve (12). The oil will flow through makeup valve (12) and back to inlet (1). The makeup valve reduces cavitation of the fan motor during reduced oil flow.Reversing Fan (If Equipped)

(13) Bidirectional fan motor
(14) Reversing valve If the machine is equipped with optional reversing valve (14), bidirectional fan motor (13) will replace the standard fan motor.For machines that are equipped with the optional reversing valve, the engine ECM will automatically activate the fan reversing solenoid at predetermined intervals. The fan can also be reversed by using the engine fan reverse switch.
