Handle the parts in accordance with your Warranty Bulletin on warranty parts handling.
Rework Procedure
If a crack is identified check for additional cracks in the welds of the extendable stick in the following locations:
1) The weld around the stick to boom boss on the inner stick (see Image 1.1.1).
2) The weld located between the bottom plate and the stick to boom boss on the inner stick (see Image 1.1.2).
3) The weld on each side of the wear pad slot block on the outer stick (see Image 1.1.3).

ADDING WELD TO THE STICK TO BOOM BOSS
Add a 2 pass weld on each side of the stick to boom boss according to Images 1.2.1 and 1.2.2. Allow time between each pass to allow the structure to cool. This will minimize any shrinkage to the bore.

ADDING WELD TO THE BOTTOM PLATE TO STICK TO BOOM BOSS
Add weld material (multiple passes, if necessary) to the fill in the area between the bottom plate and the stick to boom boss according to Image 1.3.1.

ADDING WELD TO THE SLOT BLOCK
Remove the e-stick wedge and mounting hardware. Note the location of the pad for placing the wedge back to its original position. Add weld material (multiple passes, if necessary) to the fill in the area between the slot block and the side plates of the outer stick according to Image 1.4.1
