Hot oil and components can cause personal injury.Do not allow hot oil or components to contact skin.
Do not under fill or overfill engine crankcase with oil. Either condition can cause engine damage.
Open the engine access door on the left-hand side of the machine.

(1) Oil filler cap
(2) Oil level gauge
Remove engine oil level gauge (2). Examine the oil level gauge in order to determine the engine oil level. The gauge can be read on both sides. One side is marked "ENGINE STOPPED". The other side is marked "ENGINE AT LOW IDLE".

Maintain the oil level within operating range (X), between the "ADD" mark and the "FULL" mark on the oil level gauge.
When the engine is stopped and the oil is cold (ambient temperature), maintain the oil level on the "ENGINE STOPPED" side of the oil level gauge. This method should be used as reference only, before the engine is started.
When the engine is running and the oil is warm (operating temperature), maintain the oil level on the "ENGINE AT LOW IDLE" side of the oil level gauge. This procedure is the only accurate way to check the oil level. Note: When you operate the machine on severe slopes, the oil level in the engine crankcase must be kept full. Maintain the oil level at the "FULL" mark on the "ENGINE AT LOW IDLE" side of dipstick.
Remove oil filler cap (1) and add oil, if necessary.
Clean the oil filler cap and install the oil filler cap.
Close the engine access door.
