Removal Procedure
Start By:
Remove the deflector plates from the main screed. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Deflector Plates (Strike-Off) - Remove and Install".

Remove nuts (1) and the washers.
Start the engine. Slightly raise the screed in order to remove the shims between the frame and nose bars (2). Raise the screed off the three nose bars (2) and engage the screed locks. Stop the engine. Remove nose bars (2) .Note: The location of the shims should be noted. The information will assist in the installation process of the nose bar.Installation Procedure

Apply Tooling (A) to the threads of the studs. Install the studs into the nose bars.Note: The short end of the studs should be installed into the nose bar.
Install nose bars (2), the shims, the washers, and nuts (1) .
Tighten nuts (1) .
Use shims to verify the overhang for the nose bar. The nose bar should be between zero and 0.8 mm (0.03 inch) below the screed plate. If the nose bar is above the screed plate, add shims to the screed plate between the nose bar and the screed frame.
Check the flatness of the nose bar with a straight edge. The nose bar must be flat within 1.5 mm (0.06 inch). Adjust the flatness by adding shims to the nose bar.Note: After you shim the nose bar, verify that no portion of the nose bar overhangs the screed plate by more than 0.8 mm (0.03 inch). Replace the nose bar if too much overhang is created.End By: Install the deflector plates to the main screed. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Deflector Plates (Strike-Off) - Remove and Install".
