Note: After the screed is fully raised, make sure that you lock the screed in the RAISED position by using the travel lock lever in order to extend the lock pins. This will prevent the screed from moving.Note: The procedure to adjust the right extender is similar for the procedure to adjust the left extender. The procedure for the right extender is given below.
Drive the machine to a smooth, horizontal surface.
Place the screed in the null position. Refer toTesting and Adjusting, UENR0866, "Machine Preparation for Troubleshooting"
Lift the screed and fully extend the screed extenders. Refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual of the tractor for this procedure.

Install screed lock mechanisms (1). Refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual of the tractor for this procedure.
Stop the engine. Refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual of the tractor for this procedure.

Remove 11 bolts and washers (2). Remove cover plate (3) .

Remove four bolts and washers (4). Remove access cover (5) .

Loosen five bolts (6) until end plate (7) can move freely.Note: Do not remove these bolts or the end plate.

Loosen three jam nuts (8) .
Loosen inboard adjustment bolt (9). Loosen two outboard adjustment bolts (10) for the lower housing assembly.

Loosen six bolts (11) in the lower housing assembly. This action will allow the extender to relax.
Tighten inboard adjustment bolt (9) to a torque of 80 10 N m (59 7 lb ft).
Tighten two outboard adjustment bolts (10) to a torque of 20 5 N m (15 4 lb ft).
Tighten three jam nuts (8) to a torque of 200 40 N m (148 7 lb ft).
Tighten six bolts (11) in the lower housing assembly.

Adjust end plate (7) in order to ensure that the end plate is not contacting lower slide shaft (12). Tighten five bolts (6) .
Start the machine. Refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual of the tractor for this procedure.

Extend the extender, and retract the extender. Use a straight edge between the extender and the main plate to verify that the extender does not twist or sag while being extended or retracted. If twisting or sagging is evident after this procedure has been performed, bushing (13) for the slide shaft must be replaced.
Replace access cover (5). Replace bolts and washers (4) .
Replace cover plate (3). Replace eleven bolts and washers (2).
