ARM AS 2097230 - Caterpillar

1. Disconnect bypass line and remove water pipe (1).2. Disconnect vent line (3) and remove elbow (2).3. Remove water pump housing (4). 4. Loosen the impeller bolt 1/8 in. (3.18 mm). Install tooling (A). Loosen the impeller on the shaft. Remove impeller and tooling (A).5. Remove the rubber seal and wear ring under the impeller.6. Remove the carbon ring and rubber seal from the seal case. 7. Install the impeller bolt (5) in the shaft. 8. Install tooling (B) and 3/8"-16 NC forcing screw. Remove the case (6) for the water pump seal.9. Remove the impeller bolt from the shaft.Install Water Pump Seal
1. Thoroughly clean inside of the pump body.2. Remove the carbon seal and rubber spring seal from the seal case.
Do not damage wear surface of carbon seal or wear ring.
3. Install tooling (A) and washer from impeller bolt. Push the seal case (1) into position in pump body. Make sure the case is against seat in pump body but do not damage case. 4. Install rubber spring seal (2) and carbon seal (3) in seal case. Bend the three small parts (tabs) of case in to hold the carbon seal in place. Make sure the smooth surface of the carbon seal is toward the outside. 5. Install wear ring (4) and rubber seal (5) on the shaft. 6. Install impeller, washer and bolt (6). Tighten bolt to a torque of 34 3 lb.ft. (4.7 0.4 mkg).7. Install water pump housing.8. Install water elbow and connect vent line.9. Install water pipe and connect bypass line.
