(1) Magnetic ScreenA magnetic screen is inside the transfer gear case. Oil from the bottom of the transfer gear case flows through an inlet passage. As the oil flows through the screen, particles that are in the oil are stopped by the screen. The magnetic screen keeps the particles from going into the transmission hydraulic system.After the oil flows through the screen, the oil flows around the magnets. The magnets are installed on the tube assembly so that the same magnetic ends are next to each other. Smaller metal particles that go through the screen are stopped and held by the magnets. The magnets will not allow the metal particles to go with the oil through the hydraulic system.Then, the oil flows through the tube assembly to the transmission pump.
